Hiple hits support Rethlake in shutout of Richmond

Alyssa Hiple had a pair of doubles and three runs batted into support Erin Rethlake throwing yet another shutout as the Huntington North High School varsity softball team won 5-0 over visiting Richmond on Friday, May 10.

Rethlake helped support her own efforts with her seventh home run of the season and three runs scored, and Natasha Grover added a pair of safeties to the Lady Vikes' eight-hit attack, which helped push them to 19-1 on the season overall and kept them unbeaten in the North Central Conference.

Rethlake gave up only three hits, struck out 15 and walked one in the complete game win.

The Lady Vikes jumped on top with a Rethlake's homer in the first, then added two more runs in the third. Solo tallies in the fifth and sixth brought the score to its conclusion.
