Viking soccerboys escape with tie against New Castle

The Huntington North High School boys' varsity soccer found some offense with seconds to spare and escaped New Castle with a tie, 1-1, on Saturday, Aug. 31.

With only two seconds left in the game, the Vikings' Danny Becker found the back of the net off a corner kick by sophomore Aaron Webb to erase the Trojans' 1-0 advantage.

After a scoreless first half, Devon Hernly put New Castle out in front with a goal on Huntington North keeper Caleb Stoffel. The Viking senior finished the game with six saves.

Stoffel's New Castle counterpart, Sam Thompson, logged seven saves.

Huntington North's record stands at 1-3-1.
