IWU sweeps HU spikers

The Huntington University volleyball team was outmatched on offense by visiting Indiana Wesleyan University on Wednesday, Sept. 18, losing in straight sets, 17-25, 16-25, 23-25.

The Foresters, 2-11, 1-3 in the Crossroads League, managed only 20 kills to the Wildcats' 41. Melissa Grossman supplied 10 to Huntington's cause, but no other Forester had more than three.

On the other side of the net, Kristine Egebrecht produced a game-high 13 kills and three other Wildcats added nine apiece.

Huntington also lagged behind the visitors in the assists column, with Jensen Carnahan dishing out 19 to Katey Holler's 39.

The lone bright spot for the Foresters was on defense where they generated 40 digs to the Wildcats' 38, with Codie Morey's 14 leading the way.
