HNHS netboys take one on chin against Marion

A three-set victory by the second doubles team was the lone bright spot for the Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team as it lost to host Marion, 1-4, on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Senior Andrew Smith and freshman Nick May lost the first set to Nicholas Spitzer and Andrew Wilkerson, 3-6, but came back with identical 6-2 scores in the next two sets to get the lone win for the Vikings, 3-9.
Tommy Bolinger at first singles and Wyatt Nave at second singles were both blanked, 0-6, 0-6, by their foes, Tejas Srikanth and Vinai Oddiraju, respectively. Cameron Buzzard at third singles lost 2-6, 2-6, to Korbett O'Banion.
At first singles, Matt Sieberns and Graham Sereno to to Amogh Sehgal and Alex Lyons, 3-6, 2-6.
The HNHS junior varsity also took it on the chin, 1-6, to fall to 7-5 on the season.
The lone JV winner for North was Hunter Phillips, who zipped Blake Harris, 8-0.
