Viking netters top New Castle

The Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team topped host New Castle, 3-2, on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The Vikings, 4-8, swept doubles play. Senior Matt Sieberns and junior Graham Sereno claimed a 6-4, 6-0 victory over Jake Nicholson and Dylan Clark at first singles while senior Andrew Smith and freshman Nick May handled Josiah Sledd and Cayden Smeken second singles, 6-1, 6-0.
One singles win was all Huntington North needed to take the match and senior Cameron Buzzard supplied it, topping Dustin Gray at third singles, 6-3, 6-1.
At first singles, senior Tommy Bolinger lost to Joe Mcintosh, 1-6, 2-6, and senior Wyatt Nave lost to Dusty Vincent at second singles, 4-6, 2-6.
The Viking junior varsity won 2-0 to improve to 8-4.
Juniors Nathan Lundy and Cameron Stuttle defeated Evan Thurman and Coby Isenbarger, 8-2, 8-1, and freshmen Tyler Gates and Hunter Phillips beat Jonathan Keesling and Mason Warren, 8-3, 6-0.
