Marian sweeps HU volleyball squad

The Huntington University volleyball team gave visiting Marian University a competitive match, but it wasn't enough to avoid the sweep, 18-25, 21-25, 26-28, on Saturday, Sept. 21.

Senior Melissa Grossman and freshman Audrey Mallers each produced nine kills for the Foresters, 3-12, 2-6 in the Crossroads League.

Junior Jensen Carnahan supported the offensive effort with 27 assists.

Carnahan also starred defensively, where she had a team-high 12 digs. Codie Morey added 10, followed by eight apiece for Katie DePew and Heather Medich.

The Knights had a 50-31 advantage over the Foresters in kills and were paced by Becky Gramer's 14. Maddie Heidenreich supplied 37 assists and Taylor Greenan had 23 digs for Marian, which improves to 9-4, 6-3 in conference play.
