HNHS swimgirls lose to Snider

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity swim team got shut out as far as winning events and wound up getting beaten by visiting Fort Wayne Snider, 122-48, on Tuesday, Dec. 18.

The best HNHS could do was collect five second place finishes, two by freshman Emma Helmich. The frosh garnered runner-up spots in the 200-yard individual medley, in 2:30.91, and the 100-yard butterfly, in 1:08.20.

Also collecting silver finishes for HNHS were senior Cassy Lange, second in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.02; junior Maggie Warpup, second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:36.43; and junior Katie Schenkel, second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:19.69.

Schenekl also took a third in the 200 IM, Lange took third in the 100-yard backstroke and Samantha McCann was number three in the breaststroke.
