Carroll crunches Lady Vikes in softball season-opener

The Huntington North High School varsity softball team got crunched by visiting Carroll, 8-1, in its season-opener on Thursday, April 10.

Makayla Whaley hit a solo home run in the third inning for the lone HNHS score.

The Lady Vikings only had three hits on the afternoon.

Carroll reached HNHS starter Mikayla Gray for its first three runs in the second inning. The Lady Chargers scored three more runs in the fifth inning and added two more in the seventh off of two relievers. They got to Gray and two relievers for 11 hits.

Carroll hurler Lehman had 13 strikeouts.
