PAL to start up baseball season with festivities on Saturday, May 3

The Huntington Police Athletic League (PAL) will begin its baseball season with opening ceremonies on Saturday, May 3.

Festivities begin at 9:15 a.m. with a parade from Huntington North High School to the PAL Ballpark. Opening ceremonies will immediately follow and feature the American Legion Post 85 Color Guard and a performance of the national anthem by Gracie Gasaway.

Additionally, Pace Chevrolet representative Logan Patterson will present the PAL with a check for $500 as part of Chevy Youth Baseball, an initiative that seeks to establish positive relationships between local dealers and the communities they serve through the support of youth sports.

The Huntington-based car dealership will also have new vehicles at the ballpark for patrons to test-drive, with General Motors donating $20 to the PAL for every drive taken.

Games will begin at the conclusion of the opening ceremonies. All Coaches Pitch, Little League and T-Ball teams will play.

The Parkview Huntington Family YMCA/PAL Youth Soccer League will commence play on Saturday as well, with games starting at noon on the PAL flag football fields.
