HNHS netgirls slip past Norwell

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team edged visiting Norwell, 3-2, on Wednesday, April 30.

The Lady Vikings, 3-3, got a pair of singles wins from juniors Emily Eherenman and Kylie Frederick.

Eherenman, in the third match, dispatched Megan Herber with ease, 6-0, 6-0, while Frederick logged a 6-4, 6-4 victory in her contest at No. 1 singles against Brittany Barger.

Huntington North's second doubles team of senior Alisha Leffler and sophomore Sarah Fryman rounded out the squad's wins with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Brooke Toliver and Arissa Moser.

Junior Ana Eckert and sophomore Emily Karst came up short in their first doubles match versus Laken Chaney and Chloie Williams, 1-6, 6-7, which was also the case for senior Casey Richman in her bout with Kaitlynne Douglass at second singles, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7.

The Lady Viking junior varsity fell, 3-4.

Seniors Anna Doctor and Jessica Onate recorded 8-0 wins at first and third singles, respectively, while freshman Laresa Lund posted an 8-1 victory in the second match for Huntington North, 4-2.
