Lady Viking gymnasts place 10th at Carter Classic

Jessica Baker placed eighth overall to lead the Huntington North High School gymnastics team to a 10th place finish Saturday, Jan. 24, a the Concordia Becky Cater Classic.

The Lady Vikings finished with 94.825 points. Valparaiso won the meet with a team score of 111.400, Bishop Dwenger placed second with 110.275 and Carroll finished third with 104.300.

Baker got her eighth place by finishing in the top 10 in two events and the top 20 in all four. She finished seventh in the balance beam, with 8.95, and eighth in the uneven bars, with an 8.875. She took 12th in floor exercise, scoring a 9.0, and got 19th in the vault, with an 8.9.

Maryssa Campbell, Olivia Eckert and Macy Good placed 28th through 30th, respectively, for HNHS.

Campbell placed 18th in the floor exercise, with an 8.750; 42nd in vault, 8.100; 44th on bars, 6.450; and 47th on beam, 6.200.

Eckert placed 30th on floor, 8.400; 47th on bars, 6.150; and 49th on both the vault and bars, with 7.600 and 5.900, respectively.

Good placed 40th on beam, 7.000; 43rd in both vault and bars, with 8.050 and 5.950, respectively; and 48th on floor, 6.850.

Chelsi Snyder, Ashley Burson and Cieria Boyd placed 76th through 78th, respectively, for HNHS.

Fremont's Kayla Heator was the overall champion, scoring 38.350, and placing first on floor, second on beam and third on both vault and bars.

The Lady Vikings will be at Logansport this evening, Monday, Jan. 26.
