Announce MCC hoop tourney pairings for men and women

The Huntington University women's basketball team grabbed the second seed at the Mid-Central College Conference Women's Basketball Tournament and will start off with Spring Arbor on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Merillat Centre PERC.

The men's team is the sixth seed in their MCC tourney and will travel to face third-seed Grace on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m.

The HU women head into the tourney with a 21-6 overall mark. Spring Arbor, the seventh seed, is at 13-15.
The winner of this game faces the winner of No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan, 22-8, and sixth seed Marion, 19-11, on Friday Feb. 27. Huntington would host the contest if it advances.

Bethel, 21-7, won the conference regular season championship and is the No. 1 seed. Its first game will also be Tuesday, facing the winner between Grace, 8-22, and Goshen, 7-23. That game winner will face the winner between No. 4 Taylor, 19-10, and No. 5 St. Francis, 15-15.

The HU men head into their tourney at 19-11, and face a 20-9 Grace squad. Winner of that game will face the victor between No. 2 Indiana Wesleyan, 25-5, and seventh seed Goshen, 14-16.

Conference champion Bethel, 27-3 and the No. 1 seed, starts with eighth seed Taylor, 11-19. The winner of that game goes against the winner of fourth seed St. Francis, 17-13, and fifth seed Spring Arbor, 20-10.
