Fort Wayne resident Tritch to seek Democrat Third District nomination

Fort Wayne resident Courtney Tritch has announced that she plans to be a candidate in the 2018 Democrat primary for Third District congressional nomination.

The seat is currently held by Republican Jim Banks.

Tritch recently started Courtney Tritch Consulting after serving as vice president of marketing for the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. While living in Chicago, she owned a small business, Sweets by Courtney.

Tritch earned a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University, holds a marketing strategy certificate from Cornell University and graduated from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute for Organizational Management.

During her work for the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Tritch noted, she participated in bipartisan initiatives which deepened her belief in the value of working together to make the community a better place.

“I’m looking forward to listening to each and every one of you as we discuss ways to move our economy forward, protect our health care and support job-producing industries,” Tritch wrote in a release announcing her candidacy.

The third congressional district includes Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Jay, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley counties and portions of Blackford and Kosciusko counties.

The official filing period for the 2018 primary opens Jan. 10, 2018, and continues through Feb. 9, 2018.  Primary Election Day is May 8, 2018, although voting will take place prior to that day.

Voter registration for the primary ends on April 9, 2018.
