New assistant chief

Jay Kyle (right) is sworn in as assistant chief of the Huntington Police Department by Huntington Clerk-Treasurer Christi McElhaney on Thursday, Aug. 17. With them are (from left) Kyle’s son and daughter, Mason Kyle and Sydney Kyle, and wife, Angie Kyle. Kyle, a Huntington native, has been a member of the Huntington Police Department since 1993. He succeeds Matt Hughes, who requested a return to regular duties and now serves as third shift captain.
