Vike netboys rip Columbia City

Including a pair of shutouts, the Huntington North High School boys’ varsiy tennis team ripped visiting Columbia City, 5-0, on Thursday, Sept. 21.

First singles player Auden Eckert and the second doubles team of Jarrett Gray and Adam Zahn each recorded 6-0, 6-0 shutouts as the Vikings improved to 7-8 on the season. Eckert nailed Garrett Anspach and the doubles team crushed Jackson Longenbaugh and David Kyler.

At second singles, Matt Karst had little trouble with Brader Baker in a 6-2, 6-1 win and Thomas Schweller at third singles cruised past Eli Jones, 6-4, 6-0.

The No. 1 doubles team of Spencer Atkinson and Clark Kitchen completed the sweep with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Jordan Lee and Kendall Smith.

The Huntington North junior varsity also won, 5-0. Chalking up the wins were singles players Noah Zahn, Nick Johnson and Max Gilpin and the doubles teams of Jack Young and Logan Moreland and Luke Eckert and Drew Kreiger.
