Stephan, Niswander come up big as Lady Vike spikers sweep

Kaitlyn Stephan and Macy Niswander had big nights to lead the Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep over visiting New Haven on Tuesday, Sept. 26.

Stephan, a senior, had 31 assists and 10 digs and Niswander, a junior, racked up 13 kills and had four blocks as the Lady Vikings cruised past New Haven in the first two games, 25-10, 25-9, then pulled out a 28-26 thriller in the third game.

The win boosted the Lady Vikes’ record to 18-7 on the season.

Kalee Platt blasted six aces on the night.

The HNHS junior varsity took a close 2-1 decision behind scores of 23-25, 25-14, 15-13.

Morgan Robrock had 13 assists and four aces to spark the offense, which also got six kills from Maddi Laymon. Erika Vinson had a block on defense.

The freshman Lady Vikings improved to 17-2 with a 2-0 win, 25-10, 25-7.

Preslee Williams had four assists and Alexa Spahr served three aces.

Victoria Myers had five digs.
