Five score goals as Vikings trounce Luers

Five different players scored as the Huntington North High School boys’ varsity soccer team trounced host Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, 5-1, on Thursday, Sept. 28.

The Vikings, 12-3-1, took a 2-0 lead into the locker room at halftime and tallied three more times in the second half while Luers was only able to get on the scoreboard once.

Viking goal-scorers were seniors Caleb Smith and Jacob Foster, sophomores Peyton Miller and Kyle McGinnis and freshman Alex Gass.

Smith and fellow senior Kasey Konz picked up assists.

Goalkeeper Sam Poling made four saves to get his 10th win of the season between the pipes.

Smith leads the team with 17 goals on the season. He also has five assists for 39 points on the campaign.
