HU netters Poncio, Manzo again earn all-conference honors

For the second year in a row, the Crossroads League has tabbed Huntington University men’s tennis players Ignacio Poncio and Rodrigo Manzo as all-conference honorees.

For Poncio, a junior, it marks his third all-conference award in as many years. Playing at Huntington’s No. 1 spot in both singles and doubles, the Argentina native logged a 7-2 record in singles action while posting six wins against three losses in doubles play to guide the Foresters to a third-place finish in the conference standings. His overall record this fall was 12-3 in singles and 9-5 in doubles.

As Huntington’s No. 2 player, Manzo, a sophomore, was unblemished at 8-0 in singles play against his league foes while racking up a 7-1 record at the second spot in doubles action. The San Luis Potosi, Mexico, native finished the fall with an overall 13-2 singles record and an 8-6 doubles record.

Huntington wrapped up the fall season with an overall record of 9-4 and a conference record of 7-2.
