Lady Vike spikers grab three all-conference first team spots

Three members of the Huntington North High School volleyball team have been named to the Northeast 8 Conference first team.

Senior Kalee Platt and juniors Macy Niswander and Maddy Robrock received the honor for the Lady Vikings. Platt, an outside hitter, finished with 213 kills and a team-high 59 aces. Niswander, a middle blocker, led Huntington North in kills, with 278, and total blocks, with 76. Robrock, also a middle blocker, logged 236 kills while registering 60 total blocks, finishing second on the team in both categories.

Senior Rileigh Johnson was named to the conference’s second team. A defensive specialist, Johnson led the Lady Vikings in digs, producing 386.

Senior Kaitlyn Stephan rounded out Huntington North’s honorees with a spot on the honorable mention list. A setter, Stephan was the Lady Vikes’ assists leader with 788. She also amassed 250 digs and served up 45 aces, finishing second on the team in both areas.

Huntington North was the conference runner-up with a mark of 6-1. Coach Trinda Goings’ squad finished the season 23-9.
