2 from county to compete in AMSOIL Ironman

Huntington County residents Shane McCoart and Pat Flynn will be competing at the AMSOIL Ironman, the final event of the 2017 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country Series, on Saturday, Oct. 28, and Sunday, Oct. 29, at Ironman Raceway in Crawfordsville.

The AMSOIL GNCC Series, presented by Maxxis, is a 13-round off-road racing competition with classes for off-road motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and utility task vehicles.

McCoart, of Roanoke, competes in the 4x4 C class on a Can-Am Renegade 800 XXC ATV. Flynn, of Huntington, competes in the Silver Masters A class on a 250 KTM XC motorcycle.

McCoart is currently in sixth place in his class while Flynn occupies first in his.

There is a fee to attend the two-day event. Children ages 6 to 11 are admitted at a reduced cost and children ages 5 and under are admitted for free.

Ironman Raceway is at 389W-200S, Crawfordsville.
