HU golfwomen eighth at Whistling Straights Intercollegiate

The Huntington University women’s golf team brought home an eighth-place finish from the Whistling Straights Intercollegiate, hosted by Taylor University on Monday, Oct. 23, and Tuesday, Oct. 24.

After posting a 357 on Monday, the Foresters turned in a 401 on Tuesday to finish with a 758.

Playing in a field of 49 golfers, Betsy Schroeder claimed 10th by firing a 168 to pace her team. Alexandria Maris finished second for Huntington, 29th overall, with a 192. Leah Thompson posted a 196 for 35th. Megan Higgins placed 39th with a 202 while Sophie Frazier turned in a 225.

Northern Michigan topped the leader board with a 667, followed by Taylor, 675; Embry Riddle, 677; Saint Francis, 699; Cardinal Stritch, 703; Viterbo, 719; Holy Cross, 751; Huntington, 758; St. Xavier, 797; and Sterling, 842.
