Lincoln dinner will raise funds for scholarships

Lincoln Elementary School's annual Heith Garner Scholarship Dinner and Talent Show will take place Friday, Nov. 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Lincoln cafeteria.

A meal of chili, hot-dog, chips, homemade cinnamon rolls and drinks will be served. Carry-outs will be available.

Guests will be enter-tained by students and staff who will be performing throughout the evening.

All proceeds benefit the Heith Garner Scholarship Fund, which was initiated more than 20 years ago by Lincoln Caring Families along with Heith's parents, Angie and the late Don Garner.

Heith, a former Lincoln student, died in a car accident as a young teenager. He would have graduated in the Huntington North High School Class of 1998.

Through the years, more than 60 HNHS graduates who attended Lincoln for at least three years have earned scholarships to help them further their post-secondary education.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a discounted price from any Lincoln student or staff member or by contacting the school office at 356-2914. Tickets can also be purchased at the door the night of this event.

Lincoln School is at 2037 E. Taylor St., Huntington.
