Program offers teachers credentials in dual-credit STEM courses

Teachers in Indiana’s public schools and charter schools are invited to apply for STEM Teach II, a program designed to credential teachers to teach high-school dual-credit courses in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Dual credit courses allow students to earn college credits while still in high school and experience the academic rigor of higher education.

Once accepted into the program, teachers will be eligible to take graduate courses at participating Indiana colleges and universities at no cost for tuition, books and materials.

Current dual-credit teachers will receive priority to enroll in the STEM Teach III courses, though in-service teachers who plan to teach dual-credit courses in the future should still apply.

Applications are accepted through Nov. 10. Additional information is available at www.stemteachindiana.org/teachers/.

STEM Teach III is funded by a $2.1 million grant from Indiana’s STEM Teacher Recruitment Fund. It is a collaborative project of the Independent Colleges of Indiana and the Center of Excellence in the Leadership of Learning.
