Realizing the Dream banquet honors Huntington’s Neely

First generation students attending private colleges that are members of the Independent Colleges of Indiana were honored Saturday, Nov. 4, at the 28th annual Realizing the Dream banquet in Indianapolis.

Among those honored were Mathew Neely, of Huntington, who is attending Trine University and Kelsey Anderson, of Bloomfield, who is attending Huntington University.

Each student received a $2,500 check to help with college costs. In addition, each student selected his or her most influential teacher or mentor to receive a $1,000 professional development grant.

Neely selected Ruth Reed, a teacher at Huntington North High School, for the grant.

Anderson’s selection was Michael Caldwell, of Eastern Greene High School, in Bloomfield.
