Junior Sunderman joins seniors Tillett, Koch on all-NE8 soccer first team

Three members of the Huntington North High School girls’ varsity soccer team were named to the Northeast 8 Conference first team.

Seniors Hannah Tillett and Karmen Koch and junior Amaya Sunderman were the Lady Vikings’ first-team honorees.

Tillett led Huntington North in goals and assists, with 45 and 40, respectively. The midfielder departs the program as its all-time leader in both categories, with totals of 112 goals and 98 assists.

Koch was the Lady Vikings’ runner-up in goal and assist production. The forward tallied 31 goals while recording 16 assists.

Sunderman, a defender, led a stout Huntington North defense that yielded only 13 goals in 18 games. She also made her presence felt on offense with eight goals.

Senior Sydney Kyle and sophomores Autumn Anderson, Kodi Douglass and Daphnee Landrum were second-team designees for the Lady Vikings.

Kyle, a forward, logged nine assists and four goals. Anderson, a midfielder, scored nine times and dispensed seven assists. Douglass, a goalkeeper, made a team-best 54 saves. She notched eight wins, six of which were shutouts. Landrum was a standout on the Huntington North defense.

The Lady Vikings finished the season 16-2, 6-1 in conference. They earned a share of the conference title with DeKalb and Bellmont.
