Conner Mason won two more events but the Huntington North High School boys’ swim team fell to visiting Fort Wayne South Side on Monday, Nov. 27.
Mason, a senior, took the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles to lead the Vikings to seven wins on the night. Two of those seven wins came in relays, and Mason had a hand in both of those as well.
The senior clocked in at 1:04.76 to win the shorter race, and he came home in 2:22.05 to win the longer.
He teamed with Nathan York, Cole Davidson and Keegan Mautz to win the 200-yard medley relay, in 2:09.16. Mautz, York, Aidan Miller and Mason won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 4:22.70.
Cole was tops in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:50.96. York beat teammate Miller to the line to win the 100-yard butterfly in 1:20.40, and Mautz took the 50-yard freestyle relay in 6:13.21.
Mautz added third place points for HNHS in the 50-yard freestyle, in :26.92, Jamal Werling was third in the 100 free, in 1:20.31 and York was runner-up in the 100-yard backstroke, in 1:15.33.
