Donald W. King

Donald W. King, 85, of Wabash, IN and having family in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017, at 7 p.m. at Wellbrooke of Wabash.

Mr. King served as a cook in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War. He worked at Container Corporation in Wabash, retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church in Wabash, and the National Rifle Association.

He was born June 30, 1932, in Jackson, MI, to Charles Franklin and Vera E. Clawson King. He married Anna B. Smith in Huntington on Oct. 20, 1951, and she preceded him in death March 1, 2016.

Surviving are two daughters, Rae Hall of Wabash, and Kay (Stan) Fetter of Huntington; three sons, Don (Patty) King, of Denver; Mike King, of Seminole, FL; and Terry (Kathrine) King, of Wabash; two brothers, Doug (Patty) King, of Roann, and Gene (Bert) King, of North Manchester; a sister, Sarah "Sally" Wilkerson, of Wabash; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
 
Calling is Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, from 2 p.m. to 6 pm. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. A funeral service will be held Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Terry Hinds officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund.
