Portion of Etna Avenue to be closed Dec. 12

On Tuesday, Dec. 12, the City of Huntington’s contractor will have Etna Avenue closed from Waterworks Road to Jessup Street.

This unexpected closure is to complete work incidental to the storm sewer construction. The closure will start at approximately 8:30 a.m. and is anticipated to last five to six hours. Only local traffic will be allowed during this time.

For more information, call the Department of Public Works and Engineering Services at 356-1400.

Motorists around jobsites are asked to drive with caution and obey traffic laws. Safety for both the residents and construction workers is the utmost concern, reports Anthony Goodmight, director of Public Works & and Engineering Services.

The city will do its best to minimize the inconvenience this may cause, Goodnight notes. If there is a situation that requires special accommodations, Goodnight urges residents to inform his office.
