Dream Center donates $510 to Forks for partnership

A partnership between The Historic Forks of the Wabash and the Indiana Dream Center’s Thrift Store resulted in the Forks of the Wabash recently getting a check for $510 from the thrift store.

The thrift store was allowed to set up a Christmas Shoppe at the Historic Forks from Nov. 13 to Dec. 3, so it could be a part of the “Breakfast with Santa” and the “Festival of Trees” events this year at the Forks. In return for the space, the Forks got a donation of 50 percent of the sales made at the Christmas Shoppe, which turned out to be $1,020, noted Chris Walker, IDC executive director.

On Dec. 7, the IDC awarded a check of that amount to the forks.

“We really enjoyed working alongside the Historic Forks of the Wabash staff and their board members. This endeavor helped us spread our wings and be a blessing to others along the way, Walker said. “We set this up as a way to offset the large donations the thrift store received this year. We were able to reach out and give back to the Forks, a great organization that educates so many children in our area.”

The Indiana Dream Center is a non-profit organization in Huntington, focused on helping men and women recover from life-controlling issues, through its court-approved rehabilitation program and ministry.
