Patricia J. 'Pat' Fitch

Patricia Joan “Pat” Fitch, 75, of Huntington, IN, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Markle Health and Rehabilitation after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

Mrs. Fitch graduated from Wolcott High School in 1960 and earned a degree in business from Porter Business College in Indianapolis. She retired from the Huntington County Extension Office in 2008 after 10 years of service. Previously, she worked for Blackburn and Green attorneys and Huntington North High School. She also worked with her husband on their family farm and was a 4-H leader for 11 years.

She was born Jan. 13, 1942, in Remington to Joseph and Elberta Gilmore Cook. She married Ronald A. Fitch on Sept. 27, 1962, at Pleasant Chapel Church in Huntington. He survives.

She was a member of Union Thrifty Home Ec Club and of Zion United Methodist Church, where she was active with Methodist Women’s Circle, playing the piano, and holding various positions such as church secretary.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Michelle J. Hogan, of Huntington; two sons, Darrell D. (Dawn) Fitch, of Zionsville, and Craig L. (Shelly) Fitch, of Bremen; a brother, Jerry Joe (Jacque) Cook, of Remington; a sister, Sharon (Cecil) Davis, of Oakland City; and six grandchildren, Matt Hogan, Cassie (Nick) Justice, Trevor Fitch, Britani (Carter) Dyksen, Brooke Fitch and Connor Fitch; and a great-granddaughter.

Calling is Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the mortuary, with Rev. Bill Rapp officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Huntington County.

Preferred memorials are to Huntington County 4-H Fair Association, in care of the mortuary.
