Jerry L. Galloway

Jerry Lee Galloway, 72, of Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Galloway’s formative years were spent in the Cromwell area, where he attended Cromwell High School. He and his wife made their first home in Cromwell, later moving to North Webster, then Garrett before returning to Cromwell.  In 1970 they moved to Columbia City until moving to Roanoke in January 2003.  

He was employed by Weatherhead/Dana/CF Gomma in Columbia City for 32 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of American Legion Post 98, Columbia City, and a former member of Broadway Christian Chapel, Noble County.

He was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Goshen to Earl and Evelyn Dimmick Galloway. He married Valencia A. Johnson on Nov. 1, 1963. She preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2004.

He is survived by two sons, James (Teresa) Galloway, of Kentucky, and Travis (Torie) Galloway, of Sidney; two daughters, Tippanee (Paul Rennaker) Branning, of Huntington, and Renee Galloway-McKinley, of Auburn; two brothers, Carroll Galloway and Harold Galloway, of North Webster; a sister, Anna Beers, of Cromwell; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.  

Calling is Monday, March 12, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 207 N. Main St., Columbia City.  Burial will be at a later date in the Sparta Cemetery in Kimmel.

Preferred memorials are to American Legion Post 160, Roanoke.
