The Huntington North High School varsity football team will resume last night's postponed game against Kokomo today, Saturday, Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at Kreigbaum Field in Huntington.
The game, which was postponed due to lightning, will pick up with the Vikings leading, 13-7, with 4:14 remaining in the first quarter.
Tickets from last night's game will grant admission to today's contest.
Members of the Huntington Common Council took a look at the issues involved in realigning its districts with the city's current population, and quickly agreed to turn the initial work over to a panel of city and county employees.
County Clerk Kittie Keiffer, Voter Registration Clerk Pam Fowler and Bryn Keplinger, assistant director of the Huntington Countywide Department of Community Development, agreed to come up with some possibilities for redistricting.
They will offer those proposals to city council, which will use them as a starting point for a final decision.
Robert "Bobby" McGinness, 55, of Huntington, died Tuesday, Aug.28, 2012.
Mr. McGinness was previously employed as a truck driver for Statewide Trucking. He was a member of the Freedom Riders.
He was born March 1, 1957, in Huntington to Robert and Nina Clark McGinness.
Survivors include a sister, Deborah Sue Clark, of Eldon, MO.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at 5 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, Huntington.
Fire hydrants in the downtown Huntington area have been decorated by area artists, and the community is invited to view the finished works Sunday afternoon, Sept. 9.
The project is coordinated by the Huntington Arts Initiative. The theme is "A is for Alphabet," and each participating artist chose a letter of the alphabet. That artist then painted a fire hydrant to reflect something beginning with that letter.
Allyson Trout's overall efforts weren't enough for the Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team as it lost to host Columbia City, 1-3, on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Trout, a senior, had 18 assists, 11 kills, 17 digs and five blocks but the Lady Vikings lost 19-25, 27-29, 25-17, 20-25 to fall to 5-7 on the season.
Fellow senior Alexis Wygant led the Lady Vikings with 16 kills, and she added 20 digs and three blocks, while junior Jessie Drew had a team-high 11 blocks and added nine kills and 17 digs.
The Huntington North High School girls' varsity soccer team got two first half goals and shut out host Manchester for a 2-0 win on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Sophomores Corinne Tester and Aly Grabner were the goal-scorers for the Lady Vikes, 3-5-1. Tester and Courtney Scher each recorded an assist.

The Huntington University women's soccer team netted six goals in the first half and five more in the second for an 11-0 victory - the largest margin of victory in program history - over visiting Andrews University on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Jessica Krause, Lisa Underwood and Bethany Quinn each scored two goals for the Foresters, 3-0.
Kasandra Zimmerman, Jamie Duchane, Alyssa Krause, Caitlin Johnson and Sara Marshall each added a goal for the HU cause.
