Leland D. Moore

Leland Duane Moore, 71, of Warsaw, IN, and a native of Andrews, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at 7 a.m. at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

Mr. Moore was a member of the Andrews Christian Church. He was affiliated with Pathfinder Services, Huntington, and the Cardinal Center, Warsaw.

He was born Oct. 8, 1940, in Andrews to Albert Eugene "Dinty" and Elizabeth Bare Moore.

Survivors include a sister, Diann (Wayne) Slaymaker, of Warsaw.

Don D. Brown

Don D. Brown, 79, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 7:30 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Brown was a railroad brakeman for many years, working for Erie-Lackwanna until 1976 and for Conrail from 1976 to 1979. He owned the Baker's Dozen bakery in Huntington from 1985 to 1993 and worked for Eagle Picher from 1985 until his retirement in 1994.

He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1950 and served in the United States Army during the early 1950s. He was a member of the Northview Church of Christ.

Dorothy M. Dickey

Dorothy Marie Dickey, 95, of Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at 6:05 p.m. at The Heritage of Huntington.

Mrs. Dickey was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Huntington.

She was born Jan. 14, 1916, in Huntington to Orlo Leroy and Minnie Sophia Kohlman Bridge. She married Oakly Dickey on Aug. 8, 1970, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1982.

Betty A. Snider

Betty Ann Snider, 80, of Columbia City, and having family members in Roanoke, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Snider attended Larwill High School. She had been employed by Blue Bell, Viking and Parkview Whitley Hospital. She was a member of the Columbia City United Methodist Church, the Sewing Club of the church and Eagles Lodge 1906 Auxiliary.

Opal R. Lord

Opal R. Lord, 101, of Roanoke, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2011, at the Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Lord graduated from Monroeville High School and attended Indiana University and Lutheran School of Nursing. During World War II, she was employed by the International Harvester Company, retiring after 20 years of service. She was co-founder and manager of Lord State Security Company, which operated in Indiana and Ohio for more than 50 years.

Alice Allen

Alice E. Allen, 86, of rural Huntington, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at 12:42 p.m. at Bluffton Regional Medical Center, Bluffton.

Mrs. Allen, a graduate of Roanoke High School, had worked as a bookkeeper at Geedy Corey Hardware. She had also worked at Barnhart's Office Supply. She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Masonic Cemetery Board and a member of the Markle United Methodist Church.

Bertha E. Booth

Bertha Elnora Booth, 84, of Castleton, and a native of Huntington, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Miller's Senior Living Community.

Mrs. Booth, a former resident of Marion, was co-owner of B&B Motors, Round Roibbins and operated a cake decorating business.

She was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Huntington to Tracy and Cozzetta Coffelt Wampner. She married William R. Booth on Dec. 20, 1945. He preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 2004.
