Psychology club sets drug drop-off

In an effort to help prevent prescription drug abuse, Huntington North High School's Psychology Club will be working in conjunction with the Huntington County Coroner's office to offer a community drug drop off free of legal penalties on Nov. 11 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Members of the community are welcome to bring unused or out of date prescription drugs to the Central Christian Church to be properly disposed of.

Caswell-Runyan is topic of next historical group meet

The Caswell-Runyan Company, which operated in Huntington from 1907 until 1956, will be the topic of a free program on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at the Huntington County Historical Museum.

The Huntington County Historical Society will hold an open meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Historical Museum.

Bill Shaneyfelt, whose family members were employed at the factory for more than 35 years, will present "A Personal History of Caswell-Runyan," featuring a DVD created from 8mm film.

Caswell-Runyan Company operated in Huntington from 1907 until 1956.

Billy L. Brubaker

Billy L. Brubaker, 69, of Uniondale, IN, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at 3:30 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Brubaker was a 1959 graduate of Warren High School. He had worked at Wilbert Vault in Uniondale in the early 1960s. He had worked at Yeoman Engineering for 35 years and worked at Wabash Technology since 2000.

Mr. Brubaker was a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge and was a member of Union Church. He was a scout leader in Uniondale for several years and was a Northern Wells Community School Board member in the 1980s.

Local veterans service office ready to help those who fought for us

The Huntington County Veterans Service Office offers assistance to those who fought for the freedoms of America and live right here in the community.

According to the VA, 3,027 veterans are in Huntington County, and Bruce Stanton, service officer of Huntington, says his office not only helps them but their spouses, dependents and widows. The service office also assists active duty servicemen and women and their dependents.

Patrick A. 'Pat' Eisenhut

Patrick A. "Pat" Eisenhut, 57, of Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Zanesville, IN, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at 5:15 a.m. at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Eisenhut attended Bluffton High School. He was employed by the Steury Bottling Company and later at Sterling Casting.

He was born March 17, 1953, in Allen County to Richard C. and Doris Gilgen Eisenhut. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Doris and Jerry Leimgruber, of Bluffton. He married Jane Rohde on Dec. 17, 1998, in Bluffton. His wife survives.

Hazel R. Moore

Hazel R. Moore, 83, of Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Warren, IN, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Meadowvale Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Moore was a former resident of Mt. Zion.

She was born Dec. 2, 1926, in Columbus, OH, to Fremont and Rose Mercer Tewell. She married William H. Moore on May 23, 1949. Her husband preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1983.

Richard L. Youngman

Richard Lee Youngman Jr., 31, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Andrews, IN, died Saturday, Nov 6, 2010, at 7:30 a.m. at his home.

Mr. Youngman was employed by Metal Source in Wabash.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1979, in Tipton County to Richard Lee Sr. and Pamela Jo Tutlewski Youngman. His father survives in Andrews. He married Stephanie Wasylenko on July 7, 2009, in Wabash. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Aaron Lee Youngman, of Wabash; a daughter, Savanah Youngman, of New Hampshire; and a brother, Michael Youngman, of New Hampshire.

Ruth I. Edington

Ruth Imogene Edington, 94, of Saline, MI, and having ties to Huntington, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at the Evangelical Home in Saline, MI.

Mrs. Edington had worked as administrative assistant to the mayor of Huntington and as city court clerk. She later worked in the Fort Wayne Police Department. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School in Michigan and attended Flint Business College.
