Pauline Wilkerson

Pauline Wilkerson, 77, of Bluffton, IN, and formerly of Huntington, died Dec. 30, 2008, at 3:30 a.m. at her daughter's home in Bluffton.

Mrs. Wilkerson retired in 1999 as a homemaker for the Dupont family in Bozman, MD, where she had worked for more than 22 years. She was a member of The Salvation Army and Home League for The Salvation Army, both in Huntington.

She was born July 18, 1931, in Huntington County, to Ira and Ruth Nunemaker Walters. She married Richard E. Wilkerson on April 15, 1950, in Huntington. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1996.

Survivors include seven sons, Stephen Wilkerson and Eldo (Debbie) Wilkerson, both of Huntington; Richard (Delila) Wilkerson Jr., of Greensboro, SC; Tony Wilkerson, of College Park, MD; and Alan Wilkerson, Patrick Wilkerson and Kevin Wilkerson, all of Parker, CO; four daughters, Sharon Helms, of Bluffton; Diana Meyers, of Fort Wayne; Nadine (Eric) Wilkerson, of Seaford, DE; and Connie (Rick) Wilkerson, of Woodside, DE; three brothers, Ronald (Kathy) Walters, of Wabash, Eugene (June) Walters, of Kansas, and Gary (Cheryl) Walters, of Texas; two sisters, Florence Crago, of Warren, and Helen Simmons, of Huntington; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Jan. 2, 2009, at The Salvation Army, 1424 E. Market St., Huntington, with Capt. Tim Sell and Capt. Sally Sell officiating.
