Alfred J. McCue

Alfred J. McCue, 80, of Huntington, IN, died Jan. 2, 2009, at 11 p.m. at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. McCue was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired as a construction foreman in The Village of Garden City, NY. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, New York, NY.

He was born Feb. 14, 1928, in New York, NY, and grew up at the Mt. Loretto Orphanage, Staten Island, NY. He married Florence Kelly on Jan. 25, 1947, in Long Island, NY. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include four sons, James (Mary) McCue, of Huntington, Michael McCue, of North Babylon, NY, Alan (Roxanne) McCue, of Wonder Lake, IL, and Joseph (Katie) McCue, of Henryville, PA; three daughters, Margaret (Joseph) Teddy, of Huntington, Patricia (Bill) Rivera, of Tobyhanna, PA, and Mary Ann (Jerry) Ferguson, of St. James, NY; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren..

A Mass of Christian burial was held Jan. 7, 2009, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, with Rev. Ronald Rieder officiating. Burial was at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the St. Vincent DePaul Society in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
