Donald Hubert Lloyd, 91, of Jackson Township, Wells County, IN, died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, at 6:20 a.m. at his residence in Jackson Township.
Mr. Lloyd was a member of the first graduating class from Jackson Township High School. He served in the United States Army in World War II and saw action at Normandy, several counties in Europe and in North Africa. He was an electrician, working for several firms in Marion for over 40 years. He was a member of the Dillman United Brethren Church for more than 60 years.
Mr. Lloyd did volunteer electrical work for his church, for World Gospel Mission in Marion and Honduras, at Camp Cotubic in Ohio and Habitat for Humanity.
He was born June 13, 1920, in Grant County to Walter Garrett and Nellie Mae Will Lloyd. He married Cathleen L. Cayot on July 20, 1946. She preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 2011.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Jerry) McNary, of Albany, IN; Dianna (Ron) Pulley, of Chatfield, MN; Darlene Lloyd, of Fort Wayne; four sons, David (Jan) Lloyd, of Roanoke; Dana Lloyd and Don (Laurie) Lloyd, both of Warren; and Dean (Lori) Lloyd of Ossian; two sisters, Marilyn (Paul) Pugh and Pauline Boxell, of Upland; a brother, Sam (Pudge) Lloyd, of Huntington; 17 grandchildren, Julie (Doug) Marshall, Jill (Tommy) Thomas, Joy (Jason) Bricker, John McNary, Ryan (Sara) Pulley, Reid (Tymery) Pulley, Titus (Kristy) Lloyd, Tiffany (Jared) Justice, Tim (Elisabeth) Lloyd, Trent Lloyd, Trina Lloyd, Trevor Lloyd, Mandy (Seth) Foss, Holly Lloyd,
Linly Lloyd, Deah Lloyd and Davin Lloyd;
13 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dillman United Brethren in Christ Church, 8888S-1100W-90, Warren, IN 46792. A service will be Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at 10 a.m., with calling for one hour prior, at the church. Rev. Dick Frederick and Rev. Dick Case will officiate. Interment will be at Jones Cemetery, Ind.-3, in Jackson Township, Wells County.
