John D. Thompson

John Dale Thompson, 60, of Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Jan. 5, 2009, at the Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Thompson had been employed as a mechanical engineer at Franklin Electric, Bluffton, for 29 years.

He was born Nov. 30, 1948, in Ashland, KY, to John M. and Louise Thompson. His mother survives in Bluffton. He married Connie Boxell, who survives.

Additional survivors include three daughters, Carmen (Todd) Allen, of Indianapolis; Erica (Charles) Baller, of Bluffton; and Rachel Thompson, of Berne; a stepson, Clint (Maryah) Boxell, of Geneva; three stepdaughters, Amber (Jamie) Early, of Bluffton; and Laci Boxell and Haley Archbold, both of Keystone; two brothers, Steven (Cheryl) Thompson and Paul (Victoria) Thompson, both of Huntington; two sisters, Deb (Rodney) Mossburg, of Liberty Center, and Tammy Sumwalt, of Geneva; four grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.

A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at Goodwin Memorial Chapel, Bluffton. Burial will be at Mossburg Cemetery, Wells County.
