Verne L. Endsley

Verne L. Endsley, 91, of Huntington, IN, died Jan. 7, 2009, at 3:20 p.m. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Endsley was retired from H.K. Porter in Huntington, where he had worked for more than 30 years. He had previously worked at Coil Engineering, Roanoke, for more than 12 years and also worked as a farmhand. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a member of the Huntington County Farm Bureau for more than 64 years.

He was born May 25, 1917, in Howard County to Otho L. and Mary Isabelle Lindley Endsley. He married Betty Jane Chenoweth on May 19, 1946, in Huntington County. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include two sons, David Lee (Nita) Endsley and Michael Jay (Glenna) Endsley, both of Huntington; a daughter, Kathleen Jane (Daniel) McCune, of Zanesville; a brother, H. Dean Endsley, of Van Wert, OH; a sister, Maxine E. Hinkle, of Pioneer, OH; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, with Rev. Bill Rapp officiating. A graveside service and burial was Saturday, Sept. 14, 2009, at the Zion Cemetery, Huntington County with Rev. Bill Rapp officiating. Pallbearers were Nathan Endsley, Seth Endsley, Jeff Campbell, Jess Felts, Phil Rogers and Bobby Krumma. Honorary pallbearers were Glen Shafer and Rodney Kern.
