Max I. Key, 84 of LaFontaine, IN, and having family members in Andrews, IN, died Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, at 11:45 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Key was a factory employee and a farmer. He graduated from Swayzee High School.
He was born Nov. 20, 1927, in Grant County to Kenneth W. and Ila Shane Key. He married Vera Odle, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons, David (Joyce) Key, of Marion; Mark (Sherri L.) Key and John Key, both of LaFontaine; and Gerald Key, of Andrews; two daughters, Mary (Darrell) Schurer, of Plymouth, and Laura (Kenneth) Brown, of North Manchester; two sisters, Phyllis (Don) Harner, of Swayzee, and Katherine (Ted) Wolheater, of Marion; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home, LaFontaine Chapel, 104 S. Main St., LaFontaine. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Entombment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
