David E. Zent

David Edwin Zent, 86, of Marion, IN, and a native of Warren, IN, died Friday, March 9, 2012, at 8:45 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Zent graduated from Warren High School in 1943. He was employed by GM Fisher Body, Marion, for 33 years and retired in 1990. He was a member of the Nelson Street Wesleyan Church, Marion, where he served as building chairman of the fellowship hall, trustee chairman and Sunday school teacher.

He was born Aug. 19, 1925, in Warren to Volney and Mamie McClure Zent. He married Norma Jean Kiser on Sept.12, 1948, and she survives.

Survivors include four daughters, Beverly (Mark) Sheridan, Mary Ellen Zent and Carol Zent, all of Kokomo, and Ruth Ann Zent M.D., of Kotzebue, AL; a son, Dr. Don A. (Roberta) Zent, of Wilmore, KY; a sister, Helen (Byron) Tippey, of Marion; a sister-in-law, Phyllis (Bob) Orr; a brother-in-law, Bob Kiser; three grandchildren, Kevin (Autumn) Zent, of Barrington, NH; Jenna (Gualberto) Alfonseca, of Fairdale, KY; and Cammi (David) Hanna, of Washington, DC; and five great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nelson Street Wesleyan Church, 1502 Nelson St., Marion. A service will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Steve Fletcher officiating. Burial will be at Estates of Serenity, Marion.

Preferred memorials are gifts to the Nelson Street Wesleyan Church or Family Hospice.
