Michael D. Fincannon

Michael D. Fincannon, 56, of Hartford City, IN, and formerly of Van Buren, IN, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at 9:18 p.m. at his home.

Mr. Fincannon was owner-operator of Fincannon Ford and Mercury in Hartford City. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Brown-Doyle Post in Van Buren, Hartford City Rotary Club and the Indiana Auto Dealers Association. He was also a member of the Hartford City Chamber of Commerce. He sponsored car shows during the Van Buren Pop Corn Festival.

He was a 1970 graduate of Eastbrook High School. He attended the Upland United Methodist Church and formerly the Van Buren United Methodist Church.

He was born April 2, 1952, in Marion, to Robert G. and Helen G. Taylor Fincannon. He was married to Linda Wortman. His wife and his mother survive.

Additional survivors include two sons, Martin R. Fincannon, of Greensburg, and Matthew D. Fincannon of Marion; two daughters, Holli R. (Shane) Spurling, of Indianapolis, and Tara E. Fincannon of Louisville, KY; a brother, Robert G. (Shirly) Fincannon, of Van Buren; two sisters, Diana (Michael) Shook, of Marion, and Angie Fincannon, of Muncie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren

A funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Van Buren United Methodist Church, Van Buren, with Rev. Rob Neal, Dr. Blake Neff and Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Interment was at Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren.

Memorials are to the Cancer Support of Blackford County, in care of Blackford Community Foundation or Upland United Methodist Church Building Fund.
