Patricia E. 'Pat' Schaeffer

Patricia E. "Pat" Schaeffer, 82, of Port Charlotte, FL, and the former owner of a Roanoke, IN, business, died Jan. 9, 2009, at Village Place Health and Rehabilitation Center in Port Charlotte.

Mrs. Schaeffer served as vice president and secretary of Roanoke Lanes in Roanoke, IN, which she and her husband owned until their retirement and relocation to Port Charlotte in 1981. She was a member of the Port Charlotte United Methodist Church and a former resident of Fort Wayne.

She was born Patricia Edna Smith on May 7, 1926 in Port Huron, MI.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald R. Schaeffer; a daughter, Lee Ann (Alfred) Miguel, of Fort Wayne; a sister, Mary Ellen Holtman, of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 16, 2009,  at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, Fort Wayne. Entombment was at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.

Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Mrs. Schaeffer's deceased grandson, Eric Joseph Miguel, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
