Melva Christine Denman, 84, of Huntington, IN, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at 9:23 am. at Parkview Huntington Hospital.

Mrs. Denman worked as a winder at H.K. Porter, in Huntington, for 10 years and was a supervisor of winders at Huntington Electric for 17 years. She attended New Hope Community Church, Huntington, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689.

She was born March 9, 1928, in Huntington to Arthur Dale and Grace O. Prough Reed. She married Ray Eugene Denman on March 9, 1946, in Huntington. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1964.

Survivors include a daughter, Londa (Robert) Burnworth, of Huntington; two sons, John (Jill) Denman and Rick (Mary) Denman, both of Huntington; a daughter-in-law, Linda Denman, of Huntington; two sisters, Linda Sue (Jerel) Jester, of Lowell, and Arnetta Smith, of Warren; two brothers, Floyd (Sally) Reed, of Houlton, ME, and Dan (Carol) Reed, of Huntington; 18 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Calling is Friday, June 15, 2012, from 10 a.m. to noon, with a service following at 12:30 p.m., at the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 W. Park Drive, Huntington. Rev. Richard Fredericks will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Bluffton.
