Richard L. "Dick" Hosier, 75, of Wabash, IN, and having family members in Huntington, IN, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 12:39 p.m. at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Mr. Hosier had been employed by General Tire, in Wabash, for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Amboy United Methodist Church and an amateur radio club in Marion. He was active with the Wabash County 4-H horse and pony groups.
He was born Nov. 27, 1936, in Howard County to William Ted and Mildred L. Ellis Hosier. He married Janice M. Long Baker on Jan. 1, 1979, in Roann. She preceded him in death on April 9, 2007.
Survivors include four sons, Robert J. Hosier, of Wabash; Jerry A. Hosier, of Chester Hill, OH; Bobby Baker, of North Manchester; and Mike (Shelley) Baker, of Lagro; two daughters, Rita K. Hosier, of Denver, and Cindy M.(Jay) Shenefield, of Wabash; a brother, Larry (Cindy) Hosier, of Roann; a sister, Sue (Dale) Rush, of Amboy;13 grandchildren, Jason (Stacie) Shenefield, of Huntington; Lindsay (Brian) Swihart, Lacy Gottschalk, Max (Tiffany) Shenefield and Alicia (Brandon) Swain, all of Wabash; Tyler Baker and Austin Gottschalk, both of Lagro; Julie Wardrip, John Wardrip and Jeremy Wardrip, all of Corning, OH; Chad (Brent) Heck, of Indianapolis; Trent Joseph (Lindsay) Heck, of North Manchester; and Holly Hecker of LaFontaine; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A service was held on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Fuenral Service, Wabash, with Rev. Jeff Herron officiating. Burial was at Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset.
