Barbara J. Buzzard, 73, of Huntington County, IN, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at her home.
Mrs. Buzzard was salutatorian of the Huntington Township High School Class of 1956.

She was an executive secretary and had been employed by Memcor, Community State Bank, Lincoln Life Insurance Company and IBM in Fort Wayne. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Ladies Auxiliary to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2689 and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Huntington, and Eagles Lodge 1738, of Wabash.

She was born Sept. 9, 1938, in Hackensack, NJ, to James A .and Gladys Payton Paxton. She is survived by her mother, Gladys M. Bardsley, of Huntington. Her first marriage was in 1964 to Richard J. Ehinger, who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1990. Her second marriage was in 1994 to Gerald "Jerry" Buzzard, who preceded her in death in 2005.

Survivors include a son, Joseph R. Ehinger, of Bloomington; five daughters, Ann (Troy) Cozad, Jane (Ralph) Johnson and Lois E. Ehinger, all of Fort Wayne; Sara (Conor) Obrien, of Dillon, CO; and Eileen (John) Lindhorst, of Silverthorne, CO; three sisters, Judith (Bruce) Hippensteel, of Ligonier; Mary (Richard) Gehrett, of Nappanee; and Lois (Jerry) Walling, of Warren; and a granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Johnson, of Fort Wayne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to Mass, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington. Rev. Ron Rieder will preside. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington.
