Jon E. Turner, 72, of Bluffton, IN, and having family members in Zanesville, IN, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at 10:04 a.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

Mr. Turner graduated from Bluffton High School in 1957 and from the Indianapolis Master Barber's College in 1958. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving with the military police. He operated Turner's Barber Shop for 26 years, retiring in 1984. He worked in security for Peyton, the Caylor-Nickel Clinic and Lutheran Hospital until 2009. He was a member of the First Reformed Church and a 48-year member of American Legion Post 111, Bluffton.

He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Bluffton to Earl S. and Artha O. Kline Turner. He married Patricia "Pat" A. Turner on Feb. 14, 1960. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Kathy (Dave) Golden, of Zanesville; and two grandsons, Luke Golden and Mark Golden, both of Zanesville.

Calling is Wednesday, June 27, 2-12, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home, 308W. Washington St., Bluffton. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 10:30 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Dr. Bryson E. Bell will officiate. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post 111, of Bluffton, and the United States Army Honor Guard.

Preferred memorials are gifts to Friends of the Shelter or the First Reformed Church.
