Myrna J. Ennis, 72, of Norwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Huntington, IN, died Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 7:10 p.m. at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Ennis graduated from Jefferson Center High School in 1957. She had worked at Fleet Service and Bowmar Instrument Corporation in Fort Wayne and at the Indiana Department of Transportation north location in Allen County for 26 years, retiring in 2006. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the Union Busy Belles Lakota Chapter. She was an eight-year 4-H member.
She was born Sept. 27, 1939, in Laud to Ralph E. and Luella M. Miller Esterline. She is survived by her mother, a resident of Fort Wayne.
Additional survivors include three daughters, Sheryl Porter, of South Whitley; Mona Porter, of Churubusco; and Dawn (Mark) Schneider, of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Marsha (Jerry) Washburn, of Churubusco, and Marilyn (Perry) Ely, of Columbia City; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, June 27, 2012, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 10 a.m., with Sharon Brockhaus officiating. Burial will be at Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
Preferred memorials are gifts to the Whitley County Humane Society or Union Township Volunteer Fire Department.
