Doris Pauline Lewark, 82, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at her home.

Mrs. Lewark graduated in 1947 from Roanoke High School as class valedictorian. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Fort Wayne to Paul B. and Mary F. Mertz Cox. She married Walter E. Lewark on July 24, 1948, in Roanoke. Her husband preceded him in death on Dec. 24, 2005.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Lynn) Nicholson, of Roanoke, and Lori Mosher, of Denver, CO; a son, Gregory (Kimberly) Lewark, of Columbia City; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Calling is Tuesday, July 3, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roanoke Memorial Chapel of Deal-Rice Funeral Homes. A service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glenwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
