Marian Emelyn Bollinger, 99, of South Whitley, IN, and having relatives in Huntington, IN, died Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at 6:25 p.m. at Timbercrest Healthcare, North Manchester.
Mrs. Bollinger graduated from South Whitley High School in 1930. In 1931, she began work with Grip Nut and began working as a part-time assistant librarian. She worked with her husband at Bollinger Neon Sign Company in 1935. Later they started Mill Supplies, Fort Wayne. In 1957, she became the director of the South Whitley Public Library. She retired from the library in 2003.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of South Whitley, where she served as church organist for 78 years, and was a member of the Indiana Business Women's Association.
She was born Jan. 1, 1913, in South Whitley to Clarence O. and Leola B. Faudree Enos. She married William B. Bollinger on June 23, 1934. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1961.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Rose Grossman Marker, of Huntington, and Julia Ann Glass, of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Scott Grossman, Rick Bollinger, Brook Bollinger Lincoln, all of South Whitley; Mala Grossman Day, of Claypool; Heather Glass Pehler, of Gurnee, IL; and Jordan Glass, of Indianapolis; and 14 grandchildren.
Calling will be Tuesday, July 10, 2012, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of South Whitley.
